SeaScope are part of a consortium engaged in the development of a full electronic monitoring (EM) system partly funded through the European Space Agency.  The feasibility phase of the project has recently completed and the report is available from the ESA website by clicking on this link Star-Fish.  Consortium members included Doug Watson Ltd., Space Applications Catapult, Inmarsat, Marintek Sintef and Ansur.  This project is now moving towards the demonstration phase and the aim of the project is to develop an electronic monitoring system that is capable of delivering fisheries management data in near real time, from large offshore vessels engaged in any worldwide fishery.
